Logitech Brio: Best in class 4K webcamSyah
Logitech released the Brio 4K in February 2017 and it is one of the first 4K webcams on the market. The big question is the Logitech Brio 4K worth the premium price it has to offer and is this really the best 4K webcam for Mac or PC?
Advanced features offered on Brio 4K
The Brio is capable of video conferencing, recording and streaming up to 4K Ultra HD resolution. So, we can get 4K Ultra HD resolution at 30fps, 1080p full HD at 30/60 fps, as well as 720 HD at 30/60/90 fps. Brio is also equipped with a built-in autofocus feature and five times zoom in full HD so that we can enlarge our view in full HD quality video without blur.
The Brio comes with RightLight 3 technology and high dynamic range (HDR), allowing this webcam to correct light automatically so that it adjusts the quality of our images by compensating for the level of light in the room, while still producing clear image quality.
The sound captured by this webcam is no less good when compared to other webcams that are priced more expensive. Brio has two omnidirectional noise-cancelling microphones to help filter out background noises. So that we don’t have to worry if there are disturbing voices when the online meeting is in progress.
In terms of design, the Logitech Brio is made of elegant solid black metal. Meanwhile, the Brio mounting clip is made of plastic with a rubber grip at the top and base of the holder so it won’t slip when you attach the Brio to the computer.
Applications from Logitech
To adjust Logitech Brio settings, we can use the Logi Tune Desktop application. This application is free of charge and allows us to have additional settings for the display. We can adjust the brightness, contrast, colour intensity and white balance manually.
With this application, we can also change the field of view (FOV). This webcam has three field of view settings that we can adjust, namely 90 °, 78 °, and 65 °. The option of being able to use a different field of view benefits us to get a different perspective without compromising the video quality.
The Brio is certified for business use including Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams and is compatible with Cortana and Windows Hello. In addition, this webcam also has certification and compatibility with other popular applications including BlueJeans, Cisco Webex, Fuze, Google Meet, GoToMeeting, Lifesize Cloud, Pexip, RingCentral Video, Vidyo and Zoom.
If you want to use the Brio, you need a computer with high enough specs to smoothly record in 1080p or 4K. Below are the requirements:
- Windows 7 or later (Windows 8.1 or higher required for resolutions greater than 1080p)
- macOS 10.10 or later
- Chrome OS
- 2 GB RAM or more needed for 1080p video streaming
- 1GB is typically needed for streaming 720p
- One USB 2 or USB 3 port (4K recording and streaming requires a USB 3.0 port and compatible third-party software)
Logitech Brio is a webcam that is quite impressive if you are looking for a high-quality webcam for live streaming, video calling or making online videos. To use this webcam is also not that difficult since you can simply plug the webcam into your computer and the webcam is ready to use.
The depth of view, the ability to zoom in without blurring the video and the excellent video quality overall makes us recommend this webcam as a valuable investment for remote work even if you don’t use the webcam’s 4K capabilities.
