Review of Logitech MeetUp 4K Conference CamFransisca Yenny Clarisa
Having a small group meeting with a laptop is not ideal – the screen is too small, the range of the camera is limited and the audio quality is not that great. However, with Logitech MeetUp, it pulls everyone away from the small laptop screen and you’ll have a larger and clearer way to conduct group meetings.
The MeetUp is one of all-in-one conference cameras from Logitech that is perfectly designed for small conference rooms and huddle rooms.
The Design of Logitech MeetUp Cam
If we look at the design, this conference camera is quite large with a dimension of 104mm x 400mm x 85mm and a weight of 1.04kg. The MeetUp looks very pleasing to the eye, wrapped in blackish grey colour. There is a stand made of metal underneath this conference camera which allows this device to be placed on the table. In addition, if you have a larger display for meetings, you need a Logitech MeetUp TV Mount to put this conference camera right under your display. The moveable wide lens is located right in the middle and in between the two speakers. There are two ports on the back of the MeetUp, one is a USB port and the other is a power port.
The Features of Logitech MeetUp Cam
This conference cam is equipped with very sophisticated technology. It has the latest video technology (4K 13-megapixel camera) and a 120-degree field of view that is designed for smaller rooms and enhances everyone’s appearance at the corners of the meeting table. The presenter can do a 5x zoom-in on the whiteboard and distant objects so attendees can see what you see. The 5X zoom won’t degrade video quality as the MeetUp has a 4K video resolution.
Its speaker and microphone beamforming system make Logitech possibly the best audio device ever produced. This conference camera is able to capture the voice of the attendees up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) away with the MeetUp’s built-in microphone beamforming technology. To extend the range to 5 meters (16.4 feet), you need to add a device, the Logitech MeetUp Expansion Mic.
RightSight is another feature offered by this conference camera. With RightSight computer vision, MeetUp can automatically adjust or change the position of the camera and zoom in to highlight people in the meeting room.
The Compatibility of Logitech MeetUp
In terms of compatibility, Logitech MeetUp has achieved various certificates for several video conferencing software. This conference camera is certified for Skype for Business, Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, etc.
In order to use MeetUp cam, your device must be using Windows® 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10. For Macbook or iMac, you must use macOS 10.10 or later.
Apart from using the MeetUp remote control, we can adjust the volume, mute the microphone or adjust the camera position with a free application. The application is Logi Remote (available on Apple App Store) and it is specifically for iPhone or iPad users.
How to Connect the MeetUp to your Laptop or PC
Revisiting the backside again, first, you have to place the USB Type-C cable into the port next to the base and plug the power cable into the round port. After doing that, make sure you plug it up to the wall. Now if you have plugged the MeetUp into the wall, you have to place the USB cable into any USB port on the side of your laptop or pc.
